The Beijing Office has been acting as a bridge between Hong Kong and the Mainland since its establishment. As exchanges and communication between the two places become increasingly frequent, the Beijing Office has stepped up its effort in bringing Hong Kong's latest developments to people in the northern part of China by collaborating with the China National Radio (CNR) (renamed “Radio the Greater Bay” of China Media Group from September 2019 onwards) to produce a Putonghua radio programme "Tuning in for Hong Kong" since 2006. The programme is broadcast in nine provinces/municipalities/autonomous regions in northern China weekly at the following time:
